The Snohomish Marine Corps JROTC has been a part of the Snohomish Community for over 40 years. The program is open to students at Snohomish, Glacier Peak and Monroe High Schools.
MissionThe primary purpose of the MCJROTC Program is Leadership Education. It prepares high school students for responsible leadership roles while making them aware of their rights, responsibilities, and privileges as American citizens. In order to be a good leader, one must first learn to be a good follower. As a cadet gains experience and knowledge, he or she will be given active, hands-on leadership responsibilities with the JROTC Program. The following list is a sampling of benefits the Marine Corps Junior ROTC Program offers:
There is no obligation to serve, in any capacity, with the US Military if you participate in JROTC. While some cadets do join the military upon graduation from high school, the majority of students choose to go onto other endeavor, such as joining the civilian work force or entering college. |
